Vintage Bulova 1963 Jet Clipper 'M3' Black Dial 17J Manual-Wind Men's Watch

Released throughout the early 1960s, the Jet Clipper series was Bulova’s answer to the rising demand for aviation-inspired dress watches: high contrast dials, luminous numerals, and rugged waterproof construction. Black-dial examples are significantly more collectible due to their lower production numbers and their strong mid-century tool-watch aesthetic. The M3 date code places this one firmly in 1963, a golden era for Bulova mechanical watches. Up for sale is a beautifully preserved 1963 Bulova Jet Clipper (M3) featuring the highly sought-after deep black dial, a look that remains one of Bulova’s most iconic early-60s designs. This piece is in excellent working condition, recently cleaned and polished, and equipped with its time-period-correct Speidel Flex-O-Band. The dial itself is crisp and evenly aged, while the hands show light wear consistent with its 61-year vintage. The crystal is clear with only a few faint scratches around the perimeter, and the stainless case has held up remarkably well. On the timegrapher, this Jet Clipper showed a strong performance with modest amplitude, moderate beat error, and a low daily variation rate, indicating a well-running movement (long-term accuracy not guaranteed).
