Vintage Elgin De Luxe 1950s Shockmaster Cal. 685 18 Jewel Wind-Up 10K Gold Filled Men's Watch

Beautifully preserved 1950s Elgin De Luxe Shockmaster men’s manual-wind watch powered by the Elgin Cal. 685 (18 jewels)—a classic example of American watchmaking with a clean, timeless dress profile. The 31mm case (without crown) is 10K gold filled and presents in fantastic condition with strong lugs and only minimal signs of prior wear. The crystal shows light scuffs consistent with age, while the dial remains very attractive and well-kept with elegant gold-tone hands/markers and the “Shockmaster” signature. Fitted with a period-correct Flex-let expansion bracelet inscribed 1946 and marked 12KT gold filled; it shows some honest wear but still retains a nice shine and pairs perfectly with the watch. The watch has been tested and is running, showing timegrapher results around +2 minutes/day, ~180° amplitude, and ~0.8 ms beat error—good overall function for its age, with routine service recommended if you want peak accuracy.
